Operations Patrol Unit Roads Policing & ARV Section of Worcestershire Police have reported the arrest of an Uber driver who was caught drink driving.
The incident, which happened on Friday 21 February, saw the Uber driver pulled over after members of the public reported that a man was driving erratically.
Police officers were despatched and the suspect was eventually tracked on the M5 southbound near Junction 4.
Taking to social media to highlight the incident, @OPUWorcs, wrote: "Yesterday afternoon members of the public reported a vehicle being driven erratically on the M5 southbound near J4. It was stopped on Strensham Services, the Uber taxi driver was found to be drunk. He blew 120ug/100ml at the roadside!! (1417)."
It was not reported what licensing authority the driver is licensed under, but he will no doubt have his private hire driver's licence revoked.
The driver was arrested and now awaits a court date.
