In a joint operation, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Licensing team alongside the Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit, took action against a taxi with an unsafe tyre in Liverpool.

The discovery led to the immediate suspension of the vehicle's licence.

The council's Licensing spokesperson took to social media to share the news, saying: “Compliance Officers working with Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit tonight came across this tyre in Liverpool.

“Vehicle licence suspended. Safety doesn't cost, it pays; check your tyres always!”

The partnership between the City of Wolverhampton Council and Merseyside Police reflects a broader initiative to ensure that all private hire vehicles meet strict safety criteria, protecting the public and maintaining high standards within the transport industry.
