Wolverhampton PHV driver issued 7 day suspension notice for dirty vehicle and smoking in car
A Wolverhampton City Council licensed private hire driver has been issued a seven day suspension notice after Merseyside Roads Policing Unit conducted roadside inspections.
The driver was found to be operating in a vehicle that was not up to the standards required, and was also found to be illegally smoking in the car.
The find came as Merseyside Roads Policing Unit continued their taxi and private hire safety operation.
A spokesperson for the team said: "We are continuing our taxi safety operation. Any taxis visiting from other areas will be expected to have the same high standards of safety as our Merseyside vehicles."
During the operation, a Wigan licensed hackney carriage driver was also issued a seven day suspension notice for not having any 'No Smoking' signs visible on the windows and having a dirty vehicle.
A Wigan private hire driver was issued a verbal warning for under inflated tyres.
