Wolverhampton Council joins local authority and police for PHV enforcement operation in Barnsley

The City of Wolverhampton Council compliance officers travelled to Barnsley this weekend to conducted checks on licensed private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers and vehicles working in the area.


The operation was carried out in partnership with Barnsley Council and the South Yorkshire Police.

The purpose of the joint operation was to check that all vehicles and drivers licensed by the West Midlands authority met the required standards whilst working nearly 100 miles north outside their licensed area.

The results of the compliance exercise were not released in the short social media post.

A City of Wolverhampton Council Public Protection spokesperson said: “Compliance Officers have been in Barnsley tonight undertaking checks on Licensed private hire vehicle (PHV) Drivers & Vehicles alongside our Licensing colleagues at Barnsley Council and South Yorkshire Police.”
