Witness driver sought as two arrests made by Essex Police after taxi driver suffers fractured skull during assault

Detectives from Essex Police are seeking to identify the driver of a white car who may hold crucial information about an assault on a taxi driver earlier this month.


The incident occurred in Brinkley Grove, Colchester, at approximately 1.50am on Saturday 2 November. The attack left the driver hospitalised with a fractured skull. He has since been discharged.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the assault. Investigators are now focusing on locating a potential witness who drove past The Gilberd School, heading from Highclere Road onto Brinkley Grove Road, at around 1.40am on the same day.


Essex Police believe this individual could provide valuable information. They are urging anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage, or details related to the incident to come forward.

Information should be reported to Essex Police, quoting crime reference number 42/166124/24.
