WHERE AND WHEN? Weekend of demonstrations set to hit London’s roads

Londoners are being urged to plan ahead as several protests are set to cause significant disruption across the capital this weekend. The demonstrations, expected to draw large crowds, will affect key areas and traffic flow from Friday through Sunday.

The weekend action kicks off on Friday 30 August, with a mobile demonstration starting at Hyde Park from 13:00. The protest, which will move through various locations, is scheduled to last until 18:00. Significant crowd gatherings are anticipated.

More centrally later on Friday, from 18:00 until 22:00, a bike ride protest will take place across central London. Motorists should be prepared for heightened traffic levels during these hours.

The demonstrations continue into Saturday 31 August, from 12:00 until 18:00. Protesters will march from Islington to Sadler's Wells, leading to further congestion and likely delays across central London.

On Sunday 1 September, two marches are planned. The first will proceed from Cavendish Square Gardens to Parliament Square from 12:00 until 17:00. The second march will start at Marble Arch and traverse central London from 12:00 until 18:00. Both events are expected to draw large crowds.

The weekend of unrest will culminate in a demonstration at Parliament Square on Sunday from 14:00 until 18:00, which will again likely cause significant disruptions in the area.
