West Yorkshire Police and Bradford Council’s Taxi Licensing team carried out a joint operation in Shipley, stopping taxis for inspection.
Several vehicles were examined, resulting in four taxi licences being suspended. The affected drivers must now provide evidence that any identified issues have been resolved before they can resume operating.
Officers also offered guidance to other taxi drivers on vehicle maintenance, advising them to check their cars before starting work each day.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure taxi safety and compliance in the area.
A West Yorkshire Police Shipley spokesperson said: “Yesterday afternoon, Officers from Shipley NPT conducted a joint Operation alongside Bradford council Taxi Licensing.
“A number of Taxis were stopped and examined by the licensing team.
“Out of the Taxis stopped, four had their taxi licences suspended until they could provide proof any issues raised had been rectified.
