Livingston Road Police teamed up with the local taxi office to conduct compliance checks on licensed vehicles throughout West Lothian, dubbed OpChariot.

According to a spokesperson for Road Policing Scotland, the operation found most taxi operators in compliance with regulatory standards.

Despite the generally positive outcome, authorities did however issue several warnings for minor infractions related to licence conditions. The initiative highlights the ongoing work to enforce taxi regulations and ensure safety across the region.

A Road Policing Scotland spokesperson said: “Livingston Road Police and the taxi office carried out compliance checks of licensed vehicles within the West Lothian area as part of a local initiative OpChariot.

“Compliance was generally high, however several warnings were issued to drivers for minor breaches of their licence conditions.”
