Veezu appoint new Strategy and Implementation Director on the back of strong growth
Veezu, the UK’s largest taxi and private hire operator, has appointed Ryan Owen as Strategy and Implementation Director following strong economic growth.
Ryan Owen remains Managing Director of South Wales based Dragon Taxis as well as taking on this new role at Veezu, which acquired Dragon Taxis in 2015. His new responsibilities will involve helping to create Veezu’s overall development strategy as part of Veezu’s Executive Leadership Team.
Ryan’s career and decade in the taxi industry has made him well-suited for the role, playing a key part in the development of his family’s business, Dragon Taxis.
In 2011, his father Gareth Owen a founder of Dragon Taxis – who has since retired - asked him to become part of Dragon’s succession, following the passing of Gareth’s business partner.
Ryan is now looking forward to playing a pivotal role in Veezu’s organic growth projects, including the most recent acquisition of Cwmbran Cars and Chauffeur Cars, both of which have been merged into the Dragon Taxis brand.
Speaking about his new role, Ryan said: “I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be the company’s new Strategy and Implementation Director. Veezu has made an impressive impact on the transportation industry and I am looking forward to working with the team and further cementing them as the UK’s largest taxi and private hire company.”
Since joining Veezu, the firm say that he has played a key role in a number of projects, including the restructuring and improvement of V Cars in 2018, as well as the purchase and integration of United Radio Cars in 2019.
