Local licensing authorities are issuing a notice by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, calling for the return of the Isinwheel e-scooter which is said to have a fault which could lead to a fire risk.

The electric scooter is supplied with a connected fully charged lithium-ion battery. The battery is JETECH branded.

According to the report, the folding handlebars with sharp edges on the E9T model, can shear the wiring, causing the circuit to combust and catch fire.

The public notice states: "The product does not meet the requirements of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009."

A description of the vehicle reads: 'Black folding electric scooter with Lithium-ion power battery supplied in cardboard packaging.'
