Uber to hand out free rides to NHS workers during Christmas period

Ride-hailing firm Uber are to offer free journeys to doctors, nurses and other health care staff during the newly announced ‘Christmas Bubble’ period.


The global private hire firm are offering NHS and HSC workers up to 200,000 free rides, which will be available to all staff with a valid NHS or HSC email address between 23-27 December 2020.

The firm are also offering 80,000 free meals through its food delivery platform, Uber Eats, from thousands of restaurants and convenience stores. NHS and HSC workers will be able to choose whether to order a hot meal from a local restaurant, or everyday essentials from a nearby shop, all delivered to their home or ward.


The offer will be valid for up to two £10 free rides per NHS or HSC staff member.


Uber customers will need an account linked to their NHS or HSC email address.
