Uber rolls into Ipswich with latest ridehail service launch

Passengers in Ipswich can now book an Uber, as the global ride-hailing service launches across the town.

The move comes in response to growing demand, with over 4,000 local residents already accessing the app each week in search of a ride.

To mark its arrival, Uber is offering up to £20 off users' next two trips, available until 15 September 2024.

Nationwide, Uber has seen a surge in driver numbers, growing by more than 70% since 2021. Over 100,000 drivers are now on the platform in the UK.

Passengers in Ipswich can use Uber’s simple app to book, track, and pay for rides, with the assurance that all drivers are licensed professionals. The app also provides several safety features, including GPS tracking and emergency support, allowing users to share trip details with trusted contacts and connect with Uber’s support team.

Andrew Brem, General Manager of Uber UK, said: “We are extremely proud to launch Uber in Ipswich where we have been seeing increased demand for our services. By bringing Uber to the town we want to help maximise earnings opportunities for drivers, boost transport options for passengers, and support the local economy.”
