Uber One: What is it, how much is it and how does it affect UK ride-hail usage?
Updated: Jun 9
Uber, the global player in ride-hailing and food delivery, has launched its latest billboard campaign across the UK advertising its subscription service called Uber One. But what is it, how much does it cost and how does it impact ride-hail usage?
Uber One members receive £0 Delivery Fees for Eats orders over £15, plus 5% off the basket price for restaurants and free delivery for grocery orders over £25. Promotions apply to selected Restaurants marked with the Uber One logo.
For rides, Uber One Members receive a 5% discount on economy reserve rides and 10% discount on premium reserve rides. Members can also access the Uber One Promise where they get £5 Uber credit if delivery of their Eats order gets delayed.
Uber One is designed to incentivise users to use the Uber Services more by making heavy use cheaper. According to Uber, the average savings of members in the UK from promos and member pricing are £19 every month. Uber One is also aimed at increasing customer loyalty and retention, as well as attracting new users who are looking for convenience and value.
To join Uber One, users need to sign in to their Uber account and select the Uber One option from the menu. They can then choose between the monthly or annual plan and pay with their preferred payment method.
Uber One is part of Uber’s strategy to become a one-stop shop for all transportation and delivery needs, as well as to diversify its revenue streams and increase its profitability.
