Uber launches ski service at winter resorts across seven European countries
Uber has expanded its services to cater to winter travellers, launching Uber Ski in seven European countries.
The new offering provides fixed-price transfers from major transport hubs to over 90 alpine resorts, targeting the growing demand for travel to ski destinations.
Available in Austria, Germany, France, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, Uber Ski allows passengers to book vehicles fitted with ski and snowboard racks. Fares start from €49 for up to five passengers, with the option to reserve rides up to 60 days in advance.
Uber Ski serves some of Europe’s most popular resorts, including Val d’Isère in the French Alps and Spain’s Sierra Nevada. The service is designed to simplify transport for skiers and snowboarders travelling from airports and train stations, offering a direct alternative to traditional transfer options.
The launch follows a rise in demand for Uber services in winter hotspots. Data from 2024 shows that bookings in resorts such as Courchevel and Gstaad more than doubled, with British, American, and German travellers making up the largest share of international users. Almost half a million tourists accessed the Uber app in alpine destinations last winter.
Uber continues to expand its travel-focused products, following the rollout of Uber Boat in Mediterranean locations such as Mykonos, Corfu, and Santorini. In the UK, the company has also introduced flight bookings and partnered with Eurostar to improve connectivity across mainland Europe.
