Teenager seriously injured in Rutherglen Vito taxi collision
A 16-year-old male pedestrian has been left seriously injured following a collision with a black Mercedes Vito taxi on Main Street, Rutherglen.
The incident occurred at approximately 4.10pm on Tuesday 5 November.
The teenager was swiftly taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. The 58-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of a road traffic offence and has been released pending further investigation.
Road policing officers are appealing to anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward, as they work to piece together the events surrounding the collision.
The road remained closed until around 8.15pm to allow for detailed examination of the scene.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder, Road Policing Motherwell, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information which could help to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage from the area to let us know.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2428 of 5 November, 2024.”
