TAXI TV: Freely's innovative Black Cab campaign hits UK streets
Updated: May 22
In an innovative move, Freely, the new streaming service supported by major UK broadcasters BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5, has launched an eye-catching campaign featuring branded taxis.
This unique promotion, part of their 'Set Yourself Freely' advertising campaign, offers the public a chance to win a state-of-the-art Hisense TV.
The campaign cleverly integrates the concept of mobility with the flexibility of the Freely service, which promises to liberate viewers from traditional TV constraints such as bills, boxes, and satellite dishes. Instead, Freely provides a seamless blend of live and on-demand content, all accessible over Wi-Fi.
The promotional taxis will tour three major cities: London on Monday 20 May, Birmingham on Tuesday 21 May, and Manchester on Wednesday 22 May. These cabs are not just a marketing gimmick but a mobile representation of Freely’s commitment to making quality streaming accessible anywhere. Residents in these cities are encouraged to seek out the taxis to view the new Freely advertisement and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.
Spotting a Freely taxi also provides a chance to win one of several brand-new Hisense TVs. Passersby can either hail these cabs to watch the TV advert inside or scan a QR code on the taxi’s exterior if the cab is occupied or moving.
Moreover, the first 1,000 customers who purchase a Freely Hisense TV and register their warranty are automatically entered into a prize draw to receive a full refund for their TV purchase.
Amy Rowcliffe, Marketing Director at Everyone TV, said: “The way people are watching TV is changing, so we’re thrilled to get Freely out to the UK. Being able to watch live and on demand TV, all in one place, will be amazing for viewers fed up with hopping from app to app to find something they want to watch.
“As content from the free broadcasters continues to hit new heights – the fact it can be accessed by simply pressing the Freely button on your remote is a huge leap towards securing the future of free TV. We’re hugely proud of this, and are excited to get Freely out on the road, figuratively and literally, through our new advertising campaign and UK taxi tour!”
