Swindon Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident which occurred in Swindon earlier this month.

At approximately 6.10am on 12 March, a taxi driver was due to pick up a passenger in Welcombe Avenue when he was approached by a man.

The man walked up to the taxi and caused substantial damage to the vehicle by puncturing the bonnet with what is believed to have been a screwdriver and smashing the windscreen.

The taxi driver managed to drive off from the area before further damage was caused.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, as well as anyone who may have relevant footage from CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras.
