Taxi passenger suffers broken leg and arm during serious road traffic collision in Cleveland
Cleveland Police have launched an appeal following a collision between a taxi and another motor vehicle in Stockton.
Police were called at 10.30pm on Friday 4 March, to a collision involving two cars on Stockton’s Bishopton Road.
The incident involved a red VW Golf which was travelling along Bishopton Road towards Stockton Town Centre. The Golf was in a collision with a taxi, a grey Dacia Logan, which was travelling in the opposite direction. The collision occurred close to St Bede’s Church on Bishopton Road.
The driver of the Golf, a 29-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and police enquiries are ongoing.
The male taxi driver suffered a head injury and the male passenger a broken leg and arm.
The driver of the Golf required treatment for a broken ankle.
Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or dashcam which may assist with enquiries to call the Roads Policing Unit on 101, reference 036745.
