Taxi manufacturer LEVC announces TENTH German dealer in European expansion
Taxi manufacturers LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) have added to its dealer network in Germany, appointing its tenth dealer partner in the country.
Two new LUEG showroom sites of Volvo Centrum Rhein Ruhr GmbH will offer sales and aftersales support from their respective Mülheim an der Ruhr and Witten locations in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. LUEG group is one of the 15 largest car dealership groups in Germany with over 27,000 units sold per year.
The addition of the two LUEG dealerships will provide customers full sales and aftersales support for LEVC’s TX shuttle, based on the iconic London taxi and the company’s new electric van, VN5 from Q2 this year. According to LEVC, the dealership has already had interest from prospects about purchasing TX for use as part of the Induction charging trial set up by TALAKO (Taxi Charging concept for public spaces).
Joerg Hofmann, LEVC CEO, said: “I am pleased to welcome the LUEG dealer group to the LEVC network. There is increasing demand for TX shuttle in Germany and a clear sales opportunity for our new VN5 electric van and we are building a robust sales and service network to support this. As part of our strategic export market focus, we plan to have more than 50 dealer locations in place across Europe by the end of 2021.”
Customers in Germany can take advantage of a number of government subsidies intended to accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles. The Government office, Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA), outlines cost-savings for drivers, with potential electric vehicle customers eligible to apply for subsidies to use against the purchase price of LEVC models including the TX and VN5 electric van.
Frank Uwe Werner, Managing Director of the LUEG entity Volvo Centrum Rhein Ruhr GmbH, said: “We are very excited to start our journey with LEVC. We know that our region of Germany is the perfect target market for both of LEVC’s vehicles, with our customers highly interested in electric powertrain technology and the benefits associated with alternatives to petrol and diesel. The TX and VN5 will slot into our product portfolio seamlessly.”
Martin Rada, Managing Director for EU operations, said: “I am pleased to welcome the LUEG Rhein Ruhr sites to our German dealer network. With their professional automotive experience and local market knowledge, we are certain that they will provide an excellent service to customers looking to switch to greener commercial vehicles and public transport services. I look forward to seeing TX and VN5 on the streets of towns across the North Rhine-Westphalia region very soon.”
