Nottingham's Taxi Enforcement Team have reported a driver for driving a cab without having a licence to do so and no insurance.

Officers for the team confirmed that the local licensing authority have been informed of the incident, in which the owner of the vehicle and the licensed cabbie, was not aware that the person who took the vehicle was not insured to do so.

A spokesperson for CPO Taxi Enforcement said via their official Twitter account @cpo_taxi: "Advise that you check if you are insured and are allowed to drive a taxi before you take it without the owner knowing.

"Police Torrs given local authority notified as non badged driver using vehicle."

The enforcement team did not release any further details on the incident.
