Taxi drivers and motorists heading to Manchester Airport urged to check road conditions

Manchester Airport has issued a timely reminder for passengers arriving by car, bus or taxi to be cautious of potential road disruptions.

As September brings a late surge of holidaymakers looking for post-summer deals, the airport has highlighted several traffic issues affecting access to its terminals.

Following a seven-vehicle crash on the M60 near Stockport, drivers are being warned of significant delays on several key routes. This includes hold-ups on the M56 near the airport, where lane closures have caused further slowdowns.

Additional traffic is building across Greater Manchester, particularly in areas like Stockport, due to the school term resuming.

A Manchester Airport spokesperson advised passengers to check live traffic updates before setting off, particularly for those relying on the M60 or M56, two major routes serving the airport.
