Taxi driver pleads guilty at court after DVSA discovers insecure seat and illegal tyre
A taxi driver was issued points and a fine after enforcement officers discovered an insecure passenger seat and illegal tyre.
DVSA Enforcement officers shared images of the taxi operating with a lopsided unfitted seat and a tyre so heavily worn that the white cords were on show.
The driver of the black Peugeot taxi appeared at Newport Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to the two offences.
The cabbie was handed 3 points on their driving licence and fined nearly £400.
A DVSA Enforcement spokesperson said: “This driver pleaded guilty to operating their taxi with an insecure passenger seat and illegal tyre.
“They were issued with 3 points on their driving licence and fined £372 at Newport magistrates court
“Check tyres regularly and ensure that your passengers can travel safely.”
