Taxi driver charged following Glasgow collision with four pedestrians



A taxi driver has been charged following a collision involving four pedestrians in central Glasgow.


The incident took place on Union Street, near the junction with Gordon Street, at approximately 1.50pm on Saturday, 5 October, 2024. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene.

Three women, aged 60, 61, and 61, were taken to hospital for treatment. A fourth woman, aged 50, was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospitalisation.


The 62-year-old taxi driver involved in the collision was also taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been charged in connection with road traffic offences and is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
