Take Me has wrapped up its year-long partnership with the NSPCC, raising an impressive £15,200.20 for the children’s charity.
The taxi firm, which operates in over 30 towns and cities, engaged staff and customers in a range of fundraising activities over the past 12 months. Passengers played a key role by adding small donations to their fares, which helped boost the total.
Take Me CEO David Hunter explained the motivation behind the initiative. Following a visit to Childline in Birmingham in 2023, he was determined to support the NSPCC’s work. The partnership saw the company contribute to local and national fundraising efforts, including prize draws and social media campaigns.
To mark the end of the collaboration, Hunter and his team visited the NSPCC’s National Training Centre in Leicester on 29 January to present a cheque. They were welcomed by NSPCC representatives, who thanked them for their support and highlighted the impact of the funds.
NSPCC Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager Richard Quaife confirmed that the donation could help answer more than 3,000 calls to Childline.
Although the official partnership has ended, Hunter confirmed that Take Me will continue to support the NSPCC, with new fundraising plans already in motion for the summer.
Looking ahead, Take Me has announced that its Charity of the Year for 2025 will be the Rosie May Foundation. The company will work with founder Mary Storrie to raise funds for three pink tuk-tuks, which will be operated by female drivers in Nepal and Sri Lanka, providing both economic opportunities and support for local children. More details on this initiative will be released soon.
David Hunter, CEO of Take Me, said: “We visited Childline in Birmingham in 2023, a city we know well with our taxis operating throughout.
“The visit was truly inspiring to me personally, and I knew then that we had to do whatever we could as a group to support the NSPCC.”
Sam Paterson, Corporate Partnerships Manager at NSPCC, said: “We have been delighted to work with the team at Take Me. Their support has made a real difference both nationally and in local offices across the UK.”
