Two cab drivers from the same Lancashire firm, Delta Taxis, have been attacked on the same night, leaving one seriously injured and hospitalised.
Using social media to call for any help in identifying the perpetrators, a spokesperson for the company said: 'Tonight we are saddened by two separate attacks on drivers who were simply doing their job.
'In the first incident on Smith Street, Nelson a driver was severely beaten and robbed of his takings and his vehicle. The driver is currently in hospital.
'The second was on Halifax Road, Brierfield where fortunately the drivers injuries were less serious.
'If you witnessed either of these please contact Lancashire Police. Our thoughts and prayers are with both drivers and wish them a speedy recovery.'
Lancashire Police have confirmed they are investigating both incidents.
