Police treating death of man found in Holborn vehicle as ‘unexpected’ but not suspicious

A man was found dead in a vehicle on Doughty Street, WC1, on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a police response.
According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called by London Ambulance Service at around 1.25pm after reports of a man discovered unresponsive in a vehicle.
Emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexpected and unexplained, though police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
Eyewitness reports say a licensed London taxi remained sealed off for several hours at the scene as officers carried out enquiries.
According to Met Police sources: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 13:25hrs on Wednesday 19 February to reports of a man found deceased in a vehicle in Doughty Street, WC1.
“The death is being treated as unexpected/unexplained but is not being treated as suspicious.”
