Police seeking man after alleged racially aggravated assault on Bournemouth taxi driver

Dorset Police are investigating a racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth and have released an image of a man they wish to identify.
The incident occurred at around 11.50pm on Sunday, 5 January 2025, on Holdenhurst Road. A male taxi driver was parked when a man approached the passenger side of the vehicle, shouting and swearing.
According to police, the suspect directed racial abuse at the driver, prompting the passenger inside the taxi to leave. The man then assaulted the driver, causing an injury to his eye.
Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward as enquiries continue.
Police Constable Morgan Dew, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was a frightening and unprovoked assault that has had a significant impact on the victim.
“As part of my investigation, I am issuing an image of a man I would like to identify and would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward.
“We do not tolerate racial abuse and will do all we can to identify the person involved.”
