Police release CCTV image in search for information on Tuebrook shooting incident
Merseyside Police have released CCTV footage of two men they are seeking to identify as part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting incident in Tuebrook.
Authorities believe these individuals may hold crucial information regarding the event.
The incident, which took place on Monday 28 October, involved a 27-year-old man who self-presented at hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower leg around 10.10pm. The man has since been discharged from medical care.
Police believe the shooting occurred around 9.40pm on Denman Drive, where an unidentified male allegedly opened fire as the victim exited a private hire vehicle. Detectives are continuing their investigation into what is thought to be a targeted attack.
CCTV footage captured two men walking along Prescot Road at approximately 10.07pm, near the reported scene. Officers are appealing to the public to help identify these men, who are believed to possess information that could aid the investigation.
Anyone with relevant details or who may recognise the men in the footage is urged to come forward to assist Merseyside Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson, from the Firearms Investigation Team, said: “Although the quality of the CCTV footage isn’t ideal, we hope it could jog someone’s memory who may have been in the area that night and saw these men. If you happen to recognise either man, please come forward as a matter of urgency.
“To open fire at someone in such a reckless manner could clearly have had much more serious if not fatal consequences.
“We would ask for the public’s help in coming forward with any bit of information they have so we can find the people responsible.
“Information from the public is vital if we are to breakdown the organised crime groups who bring misery to our streets and I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.”
