Police arrest man three times over drink drive limit after ploughing into taxi

A man three times over the drink driving limit crashed into a taxi in Warrington town centre last night.


Officers from Warrington Police shared an image of the Road Traffic Collision (RTC) which took place on Buttermarket Street on social media.

The man driving the black Vauxhall Corsa ploughed into the side of a white licensed taxi sustaining damage to the driver's side.


The driver, who blew three times over the legal limit for drink driving, was arrested by the police.

A Warrington Police spokesperson said on social media: “Last night S/Insp Owen and TS/Sgt Booth from our dedicated Cheshire Police Specials Unit team were on patrol last night in Warrington town centre, variety of jobs attended including an RTC resulting in a male being arrested for drink driving, he blew three times over the legal limit in custody!”
