PHV driver who had ‘no idea’ reported for running red light in front of police patrol car
Greater Manchester Police officers reported a private hire driver for running a red light after having ‘no idea’ he’d run through the junction.
The driver of the Toyota Prius was captured on video driving through a junction on Stockport Road East in Bredbury in the the early hours of Sunday 24 July.
Officers said it was ‘fortunate’ that there was no one coming through the junction the other way.
The driver has been reported and handed a Traffic Offence Report (TOR).
GMP Traffic said via social media: “The driver of this private hire vehicle in Bredbury had no idea he'd just driven through a red light. Fortunately there was no one coming the other way. Stopped and issued a TOR.”
