Passenger suffers hand injuries after Huddersfield taxi ambushed by two men carrying bladed weapon
A man has suffered injuries to his hand after the taxi he was travelling in was ambushed by men carrying a bladed weapon.
The incident happened close to Greenhead Park, Huddersfield, on Saturday afternoon.
The window of the taxi was smashed by the attackers who then pounced on the passenger using a bladed weapon to injure his hand.
West Yorkshire Police have said two men have been arrested in connection with the attack.
A spokesperson said: "Enquiries remain ongoing following a serious assault on a man in Huddersfield on Saturday.
"Police were called to Gledholt Road close to Greenhead Park at about 3.55pm on Saturday 16 April, to a report two men had approached a man sat in a taxi and attacked him with a bladed weapon. The man suffered hand injuries.
"Two Huddersfield men, aged 23 and 28, were later arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. The men have now been released on bail pending continuing enquiries.
