Passenger punched Birmingham taxi driver and stole cash after demanding half the fare back

Police in Birmingham are appealing for anyone who may recognise the man in the picture to come forward after a taxi driver was assaulted and robbed in the city.


A spokesperson for the force, said: ”We're investigating after a taxi driver was robbed in his cab as he parked up in Gravelly Hill, Erdington, at about 5.30am on Saturday, 16 October.

"After demanding half the fare back, the passenger punched the driver, breaking his glasses and then stole cash.

"If you know who the man in the image you are being asked to send a message on Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk, quoting investigation 20/1806462/21, or call 101.

"Alternatively to remain anonymous, speak to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
