Liverpool City Council's Licensing team have reported a private hire driver, who they say was working on the Uber platform, for failing to display their vehicle licence correctly.

The vehicle was pulled over and checked after it became clear that the rear plate was missing.

Officers discovered that the plate was being displayed in the rear window and the driver and vehicle were licensed by Rochdale Council.

A spokesperson for Liverpool City Council Licensing, said: "Licensing officers spotted this Uber vehicle with its rear licence plate missing, but discovered it was displayed in the rear window.

"Enquiries to be made with Rochdale and driver reported."
