myPOS joins forces with NPHTA to drive cashless payments in Irish taxi industry
European fintech firm myPOS has been named the official payments partner of the National Private Hire and Taxi Association (NPHTA) in Ireland, strengthening the shift towards cashless transactions in the sector.
Already established in Austria and Germany, myPOS has built a strong presence in the taxi industry through partnerships with major players such as FMS/Austrosoft. Its payment solutions offer instant access to funds and are designed to meet the fast-paced needs of drivers and operators.
In Ireland, a regulatory change introduced in September 2022 mandates that all taxis must accept card payments. The partnership between myPOS and NPHTA will support more than 5,000 taxi operators in complying with this requirement, providing a seamless, secure, and cost-effective payment experience. Each myPOS device comes with a free SIM card, ensuring operators can accept payments anywhere.
This collaboration marks a significant step in modernising payment processes for taxi drivers in Ireland, reinforcing myPOS’s influence in the European transport sector.
