Merseyside Police search for "erratic" hit and run private hire driver after serious collision 

A woman has appealed for help to trace an alleged private hire driver who was driving erratically, hitting her vehicle, and causing her to spin out of control and crash.


The victim confirmed that police are now checking CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the driver of the vehicle.

Using social media in a bid to gain information on the possible private hire driver, Sarah Albiston said: "please share and help me catch this b####rd!!!! Cctv or witness appeal.


"Tonight (Saturday 21 December) I was in a hit and run on hale road . The guy was driving a taxi [confirmed as a private hire vehicle] erratically.

"Anyone with cctv or witness a fast moving cab around 840 pm please let me or police know. After hitting me he did not slow down nor stop and left me in a state and headed up the road away from Widnes.

"Police are checking all cctv but if u have it on that road please check . Please share."


Addressing concerned friends and family, Sarah wrote: "Hi guys I'm sore as hell, but my tank of a car managed to take the hit, spun a few times, managed to miss a few fences and a pylon and was on two wheels at one point, but I am ok and we will find him."
