Lost Uber driver suggests dropping family on M25 to ‘cut through here’ whilst miles from destination
A lost Uber driver suggested his passenger and six-year-old son ‘cut through here’ on the notoriously busy M25 whilst miles away from their required destination according to the passenger onboard.
The passenger requested an Uber vehicle on Saturday morning from the Bletchingley area to travel to Caterham approximately 3-miles north of where they were located.
The ride however turned sour as the Citroen Grand Picasso got lost enroute. Instead of heading north to Caterham, the Uber vehicle headed east towards the A22, before heading south to join the capital’s orbital motorway, the M25.
According to the passenger who shared the journey on social media, the Uber driver then suggested that he drop him and his young son off on the busy M25 motorway to ‘cut through’ to his final destination still miles away.
The passenger, known as Kev’O, queried whether the £33.11 fare was a reasonable adjustment offered by the driver for a ride advertised between £5.06 and £7.63 dependent on the type of vehicle used.
Kev’O said on Twitter: “Imagine this being a reasonable adjustment because your Uber driver got lost and tries to drop you off on the M25 with your 6 year old son & charges your £33 and tells you it’s reasonable!
“On the M25 my driver “you can cut through here” (on M25)”
Uber Support has been in touch with the passenger to assist with his query.
