The newly established London Taxi Drivers Charity Orchestra (LTDCO) is extending an open invitation to musicians across the capital to aid various charitable causes.

At the heart of LTDCO's mission is a commitment to fostering community spirit and solidarity through musical performances. The group is steadfast in its belief that music can bridge divides and enact positive change.

Situated in London, the LTDCO are seeking more taxi drivers and musicians to help cultivate a dynamic and diverse orchestra. Its founder, Michael Son BEM, a London taxi driver with years of experience, has long harboured a passion for both music and community service. His involvement with the IC Sinfonietta and the London Taxi Drivers Charity for Children has been instrumental in the conception of LTDCO.

Son said: “As a London taxi driver with many years of experience, I have also been passionate about giving back to the community.

“My involvement in the music scene, coupled with my role as a Patron of IC Sinfonietta and the London Taxi Drivers Charity for Children has fuelled my desire to create a platform where musicians can come together to support charitable causes.

“Over the years, I have had the privilege of producing performances in iconic venues which include St. John's Smith Square and St. Paul's Cathedral.

“Alongside William Carslake our Conductor and other talented individuals, these experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of music to unite people and make a positive impact on society.

“As previous Chairman and now Executive Officer of the London Taxi Driver Charity for Children, I am acutely aware of the challenges faced by charitable organisations in raising funds for their important work.

“Through the London Taxi Drivers Charity Orchestra, I aim to leverage the universal language of music to promote awareness and generate revenue for a variety of charitable initiatives.”
