London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children brings smiles to hundreds at annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
The London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children (LTCFC) hosted its 51st Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday 19 January.
This annual event, which has been running for 53 years, welcomed around 600 children and their families from across London for a day to remember.
The celebration featured a range of activities and entertainment designed to captivate and engage young guests. Highlights included interactive performances with robotic dogs, appearances by Star Wars characters and Disney princesses, face painting, and a rousing musical performance by the Band of the Scots Guards.
Most of the children attending were from special educational needs (SEN) primary schools. They enjoyed a dedicated feast at their tables, while adults and volunteers were treated to refreshments provided by Wenzel’s the Bakers.
The event concluded with a visit to Santa’s grotto. Every child received a selection of gifts, including toys, board games, chocolates, and an exclusive sensory taxi, courtesy of LTCFC, alongside a branded bag. All donations were generously provided by various toy companies.
The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party continues to be a cornerstone of LTCFC’s charitable work, bringing joy and unforgettable experiences to London’s children and their families.
An LTCFC spokesperson said: “The look of pure happiness on the children’s faces was truly priceless, making this year’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party a resounding success and a testament to the LTCFC’s commitment to creating magical experiences for London children.”
