London taxi charity wins Big Syn Spotlight Award for historic film
The London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children (LTCFC) has been awarded the Spotlight Prize at the prestigious Big Syn International Film Festival.
The ceremony took place at London’s Curzon cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue on Friday 8 November.
This recognition marks another milestone for the LTCFC, one of the oldest UK charities, which is preparing to celebrate its centenary in 2028. Established 96 years ago, the charity has provided children from disadvantaged backgrounds with memorable outings and excursions since the 1940s.
The award-winning film, directed by London cab driver Sean Paul Day, captures these excursions, including nearly a century of seaside trips that have become a tradition for both drivers and children alike. The video offers a rare glimpse into the charity’s legacy of dedicated service, showcasing its unwavering commitment to bringing joy to young lives.
Adding to the honour, the film will soon be displayed on Piccadilly Circus’s renowned digital screens—among the most recognisable billboards in Europe. For the LTCFC, the award and the forthcoming screening mark a proud chapter in its ongoing mission to make a difference.
