A London licensed private hire driver has been filmed stuck in the Capital's Hyde Park after closing time by hysterical passersby.
London's largest Royal Park closes at midnight, but in the astonishing footage, the driver of the white Toyota Prius can be seen on the wrong side of the gates at 1am.
The footage, filmed on a pedestrian's phone, is now circulating social media, sparking debate about how the man came to be in such a predicament.
One Twitter user has suggested the possible explanation that the driver may have fallen asleep and woken up after closing time. This is unlikely as the park's security team would have seen the vehicle parked and ordered the driver to exit before all gates were locked.
It's also been claimed that the driver had passengers onboard, which has prompted another possible explanation that the driver had wrongly entered the park through one of the exit gates which was then closed and locked behind him without anyone noticing the lost car.
The video posted by Mo - @MoZailashi on 27 January - is accompanied by the message: "What this Uber driver doing inside Hyde Park, Victoria Gate at 1am with passengers? @Taxi_Point @TfLTPH @UberUK."
In the footage, men can be heard laughing, saying: "Have you ever seen anything like this in your life? I've never seen anything like this in my whole life."
It's not been confirmed if the driver has yet found his way out of the park, so if you see a man driving a white Toyota Prius, looking lost, please point him to the nearest exit.
