Liverpool private hire driver reported for DOUBLE OFFENCE of no badges and unroadworthy vehicle

A Liverpool licensed private hire driver has been reported for multiple offences after an evening of roadside taxi and PHV driver and vehicle checks by Liverpool City Council.
The unnamed driver was found to be operating without any identification badges, which all drivers must wear and display as part of regulations, and driving a vehicle which did not meet the minimum road safety requirements.
Liverpool City Council's licensing team did not elaborate on what the vehicle defect was but did confirm that a prohibition notice was issued.
A spokesperson said via Twitter: "Officers on patrol inspecting vehicles around Mrytle At and student locations ensuring public safety for passengers.
"During inspections private hire driver found with no badges, prohibition notice issued for vehicle and driver will be reported for offences."
