LEVC has officially launched sales of its L380 Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in China, marking a significant milestone in the company's evolution. The L380 is the first of a new line of fully electric models aimed at transforming LEVC from a luxury taxi manufacturer into a major player in e-mobility solutions.

The L380, priced between £41,500 and £52,400, is built on the innovative Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform. This advanced EV technology, developed in collaboration with Geely Holding Group, promises enhancements in range, efficiency, safety, and connectivity. The global debut of the L380 took place at the Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center in Wuzhen, attended by around 1,300 guests and media representatives.

This new model blends luxury and functionality, offering seating for up to eight in an interior inspired by premium airline cabins. The use of semi-aniline leather, Alcantara fabrics, and chrome accents creates a sophisticated atmosphere. Key features include a floating dashboard, a panoramic glass roof with intelligent dimming, and various cultural design elements such as traditional Chinese Ruyi air vents and London-themed lighting effects.

Externally, the L380 draws design cues from aircraft aerodynamics, with a sleek profile and a choice of four vibrant body colours: Pearl White, Ink Jade Black, Sapphire Blue, and Emerald Green. The design team, led by LEVC’s Global Chief Design Officer Brett Boydell, includes experts from multiple luxury car brands.

Performance-wise, the top-spec L380 boasts 536bhp from dual electric motors, achieving 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds. It features the world’s first CATL 3.0 Kirin battery, offering a range of up to 512 miles. Safety is a priority, with the L380 being the only MPV in its class with airbags for all three rows of passengers, and it has successfully passed stringent collision tests.

The L380 is also equipped with the L-OS digital platform, enhancing the driving experience with advanced driver-assistance systems and digital cockpits powered by the Antora 1000 Pro computing platform. Over-the-air software updates ensure the vehicle remains at the forefront of technology.

LEVC's new model is set to revolutionise the MPV market with its emphasis on luxury, space, and advanced technology. Following its launch in China, the L380 is expected to be introduced to the UK market within the next two years, with detailed specifications for international markets to be announced soon.

Alex Nan, CEO of LEVC, said: “Start of sales in China for our innovative new L380 luxury MPV marks one of the most momentous occasions in LEVC’s history. Our brand is rapidly accelerating its transition from manufacturing the world’s most advanced and iconic taxi, to becoming a leading e-mobility technology company and, with that, we are building on our place within the Geely Holding Group, maximising the Group’s research and development capabilities, global supply chain and manufacturing resources to enable us to meet our ambitious targets.

“The innovative SOA technology – developed alongside Geely – is spearheading our exciting new strategy that will see the business take a global approach, growing our footprint across the world, with multiple new models based on the SOA platform leading the way.

“L380 meets demand for flexible, multi-occupant, multi-purpose pure electric luxury vehicles, launching LEVC into an entirely new sector. As with all our products, L380 takes inspiration from the company’s rich history, combined with the vast resources and technical innovation of the Geely Holding Group. The start of sales sees our momentum advance, setting us on the path to bringing cutting edge zero-emission transportation to more customers than ever before.”
