LEVC Brewery Road unveils £5,000 taxi scrappage deal for cabbies in London and North West

LEVC Brewery Road has introduced a new £5,000 scrappage deal aimed at helping taxi drivers transition to zero-emission vehicles. The initiative aims to offer drivers an easier route to replace their ageing diesel cabs with the eco-friendly TX model.

This move comes as driver numbers continue to decline across London. By June 2024, the number of licensed drivers had dropped by 514, mirroring the exact reduction in diesel taxis in the capital. Since 2019, the trade has seen a decrease of 6,190 drivers, a worrying trend for the industry.

The offer is also being extended to drivers in the North West, including cities such as Manchester and Liverpool. In these areas, diesel taxis still dominate the market, with 84.7% of Hackney Carriages running on diesel, compared to 44% in London.

The offer provides a £5,000 part-exchange payment when purchasing a new zero-emission capable TX and is applicable to any diesel taxi, including the TX4, Vito, or models like the Peugeot E7 from outside London.

This exclusive offer through LEVC Brewery Road is available with limited stock and requires delivery before the end of September 2024.

With around one in five London taxis currently over 10 years old, this initiative could help modernise the fleet while also helping reduce emissions.
