Leicestershire Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to following an assault on a taxi driver in Hinckley.

The incident took place at around 8.30pm on 18 January on Regent Street. The driver, a man in his 30s, had just dropped off two men and two women when he was punched. The rear windscreen of the taxi was also damaged.

The driver was not injured.

A 20-year-old man has been interviewed as part of the investigation, but police are continuing their enquiries.

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward. Reports can be made online at Leicestershire Police’s website using reference 25*35012 or by calling 101.

PC Nathan Bastock, the investigating officer, said: “The identity of the man pictured remains unknown and I believe he may have information that can assist us.

“If that person pictured is you, or you know who he is, then please get in touch.”
