Taxi and private hire drivers in Wales are continuing to show their fantastic support for local food banks by raising and distributing financial aid to a number of locations.

As recently reported by TaxiPoint, drivers from within the struggling taxi industry came together to donate over £10,000 towards food banks to help the most vulnerable in their local community.

Members of Unite the Union taxi and private hire sector have gone above and beyond to demonstrate their generosity, which hasn't gone unnoticed.

Peter Hughes, Secretary for Unite Wales, said: "An incredibly challenging year for Cardiff taxi/private hire trade, yet they've supported other drivers who are struggling to pay for mortgages & feed their families.

"Very proud to know and work with them all. This is what being a trade unionist is all about."

A tweet posted by the union @UniteWales said: "Fantastic to see our members in the Cardiff taxi/private hire trade donating £3,000 to @alikhlascec alongside @JennyRathbone today.
