iCabbi’s Taxi Alliance network scaling fast to bring nationwide taxi coverage
iCabbi’s Co-Founder revealed the growing scale of the Taxi Alliance network as it aims to connect more taxi companies across the UK and beyond into a seamless booking network.
Bob Nixon, Chief Strategy Officer, Deputy CEO, and Co-Founder of iCabbi, outlined the firm’s vision to enhance the value of its taxi operators by leveraging the scale of its network.
The plan will allow passengers to book taxis through their local provider’s phone line, website, or branded app—regardless of where they are in the UK or Ireland. The service will later expand into other international markets. Payments will be available via card or in-car transactions, delivering an experience similar to app-based ride-hailing but with licensed taxis.
The initiative is backed by the Taxi Alliance partnership, combining iCabbi - ETGL’s extensive fleet coverage. The reach spans major cities, towns, and even the smallest villages, giving operators access to a vast customer base while providing passengers with a trusted, familiar booking experience.
A heatmap shared by Nixon highlights the scale of the network, showing the increasing presence of iCabbi-powered fleets. The initiative aims to reshape taxi travel by offering consistent service standards, wider availability, and enhanced convenience for passengers.
Bob Nixon said on LinkedIn: “One of the big initiatives we have in iCabbi for 2025 is building value for our taxi company customers, and their passengers, by utilising the value of the extensive network iCabbi customers have, first in the UK and then beyond.
“That is passengers will be able to book trips with their local taxi company by phone or on their website, or on their branded company app, for a pick up wherever they are in the UK and Ireland, and then in other markets, whether paying by card or in car. This offers a ridehail like experience, where you can book licensed vehicles in confidence like you do your tried and tested local provider.
“In the Taxi Alliance together with iCabbi - ETGL in we have the greatest reach of all, with taxi companies in all of the biggest cities, towns right down to the smallest villages.
