HOW MANY STARS? Uber passengers will now be able to check their ratings

Passengers using the Uber app will now be able to check their Uber rating and how they got it as part of new Privacy Center functionality.

App users will be able to access data showing how many of their drivers gave them top five-star rating and also the poor one-stars handed out by disgruntled drivers.

Starting on 16 February, all Uber users can access a breakdown of their average rating in the Uber app’s new Privacy Center. The ratings breakdown is available to all Uber users in the Privacy Center, which can be accessed by logging into their account online or in the app.

In addition to viewing their ratings, users can now also review their past trip information, payment details, control marketing preferences and more in the Privacy Center.

Both riders and drivers have the ability to rate one to five stars on a trip. Passager ratings are based on an average of their last 500 trips. Uber have listed five ways passengers can improve their ratings:

  1. Pack it in, pack it out: Drivers shouldn’t have to clean up after you. Always make sure to take trash and any other belongings are not left. Don’t leave a mess behind.

  2. Buckle Up: Studies show that unbuckled passengers in the back seat can put the driver at greater risk of injury in a crash. So buckle up for your and the driver’s safety.

  3. Be ready: Remember that drivers’ time is valuable and they shouldn’t have to wait for you. A smooth pickup is better for everyone so be ready to go when the driver arrives.

  4. Treat everyone and everything with respect: As outlined in Uber’s Community Guidelines, they want riders and drivers to feel safe, respectful, and positive.

  5. Don’t slam the door! It is easy to accidentally slam a door if you aren’t thinking about it, and drivers have consistently cited door slams as a reason why they deduct stars.
