Hit and run incident in Cheltenham involving white car believed to be a taxi
A pedestrian in his 60s was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Cheltenham on Thursday morning.
According to Gloucestershire Police, the vehicle involved is believed to have been a white taxi and the collision occurred on Amberley Road around 10.20am.
The pedestrian reported experiencing neck and elbow pain following the incident and is seeking medical assistance. Despite an immediate response from officers, the driver responsible remains unidentified. A taxi stopped in the vicinity was not linked to the incident.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: “We’re investigating a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in the area of Amberley Road, Cheltenham at around 10.20am yesterday (Thursday).
“It was reported that the driver did not stop at the scene. He was driving a white car which is believed to have been a taxi.
“The pedestrian, a man aged in his 60s, has reported that he has neck and elbow pain, and said he would seek medical assistance.
“Officers attended and a taxi in the area was stopped, however the driver was not believed to have been the motorist involved.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage, is asked to provide this to police online by completing the following form and quoting incident 104 of 25 July.”
