Heathrow Airport chaos as TfL licensed private hire vehicle overturns at entrance to Terminal 5 drop off

Perry Richardson

A Transport for London (TfL) licensed private hire vehicle has overturned at the entrance leading to Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 drop-off point.

The incident took place just before midday, forcing police to close the slip road leading from the M25 into the terminal.

Taxi drivers heading to the terminal found themselves stuck on perimeter roads, unable to reach their destination.

Passengers, desperate to catch their flights, abandoned stationary taxis and made their way to the terminal on foot.

Images obtained by TaxiPoint show at least three fire engines at the scene, alongside several ambulances.

The vehicle, identified as a Kia Nero, was found flipped onto its passenger side. It is currently unclear if any other vehicles were involved or whether any injuries were sustained.
