Generous Welsh cabbies continue to distribute money they raised to support local foodbanks
Taxi drivers in Cardiff are continuing to hand out donations to local foodbanks to support the most vulnerable within the community.
Cabbies, supported by Unite Union Wales, rallied together to donate over £10,000 to charity, with the money divided up and shared among a number of foodbanks.
In their latest donation, cabbies personally delivered a cheque worth £2,100 to Cardiff Foodbank.
A spokesperson for Unite Wales said: "Today, workers from the Cardiff taxi trade handed over a huge donation to the Cardiff Foodbank.
"An incredibly kind gesture from a group of workers, who despite seeing their incomes plummet during the pandemic, felt the need to help the most vulnerable people in our society."
TaxiPoint recently reported on a £3,000 donation made by the taxi drivers to Al-IKHLAS CENTRE FOODBANK SERVICE, which Peter Hughes, Secretary for Unite Wales, said made him "very proud".
